Starting on March 16, the City of Fairfield utility billing and administration offices will be housed at 425 W. Commerce St. in the old Pleasant Grove Water offices on U.S. 84 in Fairfield, Texas.
City staff is working to make this move as seamless as possible for residents and water utility customers. The move was required in order to keep our police department and municipal court in compliance.
“I understand the inconvenience of residents having to go to another location to pay their water bills,” City Administrator Nate Smith said. “On behalf of the city, I apologize for that. We will work hard to ensure that water customers and residents receive the best in customer service that they expect from us.”
To help, there will be payment boxes at both the police station, 839 E. Commerce St., and the new location at 425 W. Commerce St. In addition, a new online billing portal will be implemented so that residents can see their water bills easier. The city will also be using notifications, such as text, email and phone notifications, to remind customers of upcoming due dates.
“We will do our best to make this inconvenience as minimal as possible,” Smith said. “We are announcing this date now so that residents have the necessary time to be informed. If there are any questions, please call the city at 903-389-2633 and we will get your questions answered.”
