“Freestone Medical Center was the perfect place to end our career,” says Tena Yeary, wife of Freestone Medical Center’s CEO, John Yeary, during his retirement party, held Friday, September 6, 2024. “We have served at many great hospitals, but FMC has been the most accommodating, easy to work with, and the people here and in the community have really been a blessing to us.”
Yeary joined the FMC family in 2018 as Interim CEO, and quickly turned into the full-time CEO who has served faithfully for the past five years.
Many members of the community joined FMC staff and Hospital Board members to bid Yeary farewell with a party that included a wide spread of finger foods, cake, punch, and several heartfelt speeches from staff-turned-family members such as Ve Manning – HR Director, Nicki Hagen – Chief Nursing Officer, Jennifer Azua – Chief Financial Officer, and Vance Oglesbee – Vice President of Directors.
The sentiment was the same across the board, Yeary was a great asset to the Hospital and community, and he will be greatly missed. Well wishes were given for his future: spending time with grandchildren, traveling, and doing nothing.
