Matt Foree, Paramedic, named Fairfield EMS 2024 “Star of the Year”, formerly held by Hannah Scarborough. Fairfield EMS “Star of the Year” award is based on a vote of their peers, to recognize one’s service and duty throughout the year.

Matt, the son of Grady and Belinda, currently resides in Fairfield, Texas where he was born and raised his whole life; and graduated from Fairfield high school in 2000.

He started his career volunteering for the Fire Department; and gained his EMT Certification and Firefighters Certification in 2016.

Matt then held ranks as firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, and Asst. Chief.

He graduated from the Police Academy in 2004 and has served as a patrol officer, narcotics, sergeant, K9, and interim Police Chief.

Matt began working full-time with Fairfield EMS in December of 2023. His most recent achievement, in the Public Servant role, is gaining his Paramedic Certification in May 2024.

“I have always enjoyed serving and protecting the community,” says Matt. “I have worked or volunteered as a public servant all my adult life. I was surprised and honored to be recognized as Star of the Year.  I am proud to continue learning and growing alongside some of the greatest in the business.”

“I am very proud of Matt’s accomplishments! Matt is dedicated and compassionate to his patients and strives to stay well-trained and educated, to provide the best patient care that he may give. Congratulations Matt and a job well done,” Billy Perez, Director of Fairfield Ambulance Service.
