The highly anticipated Christmas events are coming to Fairfield in December.
Beginning with Old Fashion Christmas on the Square on Saturday, December 1st, there is something for everyone this year.
–November 30th – December 2nd
Fairfield Fest – Flea Market will be held early this month for gift shoppers. Come shop local vendors at the Moody Reunion Grounds Friday 12-5, Saturday 9-5, and Sunday 9-3.
–December 1st
This event begins with a reading of the Christmas Story by Bettye Trask. Old and young are invited to gather around the rocking chair to hear of sugar plums and sleigh bells.
The annual Christmas Parade will begin at 4:00 p.m., traveling down Main Street from the Elementary school and circling around the Courthouse.
For those participating in this year’s parade, be sure to line up by 3:00 p.m. Applications are available at the office of Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.
Arts & Crafts and Face Painting will be offered to the kids from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Petting Zoo with Nativity animals will also be available.
Live performance by local dance groups will be held at 5:15 p.m.
A Nativity Drama will be performed at 5:30 p.m., and again at 6:30 p.m., by members of River of Life Family Worship Center.
Santa Claus will visit with his young fans, and pose for pictures, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Our own Miss Texas will kick off the official Christmas Tree lighting at 6:15 p.m.

–December 2nd
River of Life Family Worship Center will present a live Nativity Scene and Petting Zoo at 6:30 p.m. on the Square on Sunday, December 2nd.
–December 6th
Join the 2nd annual Elf Adventure on Thursday, December 6th on the Square beginning at 5:00 p.m. Don your best elf costume and jingle bells as members of Fairfield Chamber of Commerce travel from the Courthouse Square to spread Christmas cheer to both nursing homes in Fairfield.
Shoppers are invited to visit local retailers for the Sip, Snack, Shop event from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Several downtown businesses will have sales and special giveaways. Enjoy the Christmas carolers, and be sure to get your Bingo Card stamped to be entered to win in Fairfield’s Big Holiday Giveaway.
Also being held is an Opening Reception for the Elihu Vedder Exhibition at the Williford Foundation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
This American symbolist painter is best known for his illustrations for Edward FitzGerald’s translation of “The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam).
Stop by for a sneak peek and some holiday cheer as The Eagle Choir performs Christmas Carols.
–December 8th
Travel to Fairfield Lake State Park to their annual Christmas In The Park event from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 8th.
Gather around a warm campfire with a cup of hot cocoa. Listen to Christmas music and make a festive ornament. Bundle up on a hayride through the Tour of Lights.
Pictures with Santa will be taken from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.
There will be a donation drop off for new Blankets, men/women sleepwear, and socks. These will be used to help the local Nursing Homes.
Park admission is Free for this event.
–December 14th
Start your shopping early with Fairfield Fest – Downtown Market on the square on Friday, December 14th from 12 noon to 6:00 p.m.
–December 15th
Fairfield Fest – Downtown Market will continue with local vendor shopping from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Jingle All The Way returns this year with a new feature: Ice Slide Races!
Come out and join the competition to see who’s the fastest in Freestone County!
This annual event will be held on the Square on Saturday, December 15th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Enjoy Ice Slides, Rides, Entertainment Activities, and shopping.
Winners announced for Holiday Bingo Game and Holiday Lamp Post Decorating Contest.

This year’s Jingle All The Way will also include a Jingle Bell FUN RUN sponsored by Freestone Cancer Support Group.
