Carolyn Edna Stover Ivy, a beloved Great-Grandmother, Grandmother, Mother, Wife, Sister, Aunt, Mother-in-law, Sister-in-law, Cousin and friend, was called home to be with her LORD on November 24, 2020 at the age of 78. Carolyn was born at home on September 8, 1942 in Waxahachie, Ellis, Texas to Thomas Elton and Pauline Elsie Luker Stover.
The Stover family soon moved to Teague, Freestone, Texas where she was raised and graduated from Teague High School with the class of 1961. On August 19th, of the same year, she married her high school sweetheart Macklyn “Mackey” Clois Ivy. Carolyn was a cheerleader in junior high and a saxophone player and Majorette in the Teague High School band. Carolyn and Mackey moved to Austin, where Mackey attended The University of Texas and Carolyn attended Nixon Clay Business College. They later moved to the Houston area to begin raising their family.
Carolyn and Mackey made their home and enjoyed raising their family in Alvin, Brazoria, Texas.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Thomas “Tommy” Elton Stover, Jr., Glen Paul Stover; sister-in-law, Carol Ann Miculka Stover the wife of her brother, David.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Mackey; sons, Macklyn “Mack” Clois Ivy, Jr. and wife Denise Theriot Ivy of Manvel, Russell Stover Ivy, Sr. and wife Lisa “GG” Goyen Ivy of Alvin; sisters, Patricia Dian Stover Roberson and husband Charles of Alvin, Constance “Connie” Brenda Stover Crouch and husband Gary of Burleson; brother, David Lawrence Stover of Burleson; grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Ivy Aguilar, Faith Ashton Ivy, Mack Ryan Ivy, Lisa Fay Ivy, Russell Stover Ivy, Jr., Athel Eugene Ivy, Allison Clois Ivy; great-grandchildren, Sophia Marie Aguilar, Elijah “Eli” Theodore Aguilar, Nolan Russell Gense; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and in-laws that she dearly loved. Her sweet, soft, kind voice will be missed by all.
