Filing has begun for the upcoming Primary Elections set for March 1, 2022.

As of Monday, November 22nd, five Republicans have thrown their hat in the ring for County level positions.

They include the following:

–County Clerk – incumbent Renee Reynolds

–Commissioner – Pct. 2: Will McSwane

–Commissioner – Pct. 4: Adam Minze and incumbent Clyde Ridge.

–Justice of the Peace – Pct. 2: Kristina Capp Flannery

As of press time, no Democratic candidates have been reported for the County.

Positions up for election in Freestone County include Justice of the Peace for all four precincts, County Commissioners for Pct. 2 & 4, County Treasurer, County Clerk, District Clerk, County Judge, and County Attorney.

Also up for election will be the position of 87th District Judge.

So far, three candidates have filed, all as Republicans. They include Stanley A. Sokolowski, Brian D. Walsh, and Amy Thomas Ward.

Last date to file for a place on the Primary ballot will be 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021.
