Fairfield’s second annual Fuzzy Peach Festival, originally set for July 17th and 18th, is being cancelled in response to Governor Greg Abbott’s most recent order concerning mass gatherings, issued on Thursday, July 2, 2020.
Executive Order GA-28 prohibits mass gatherings in excess of ten people.
Although the order allows for a city mayor or county judge to approve a larger gathering of people, such an event would require groups of ten or less individuals to maintain social distancing of six feet away from each other group.
This cancellation also extends to Fairfield Fest, both the Downtown Market and Market Days at the fairgrounds.
Cancelled back in March during the early days of COVID-19, the monthly vendor events were slated to resume the third week of July.
