Not In My City is a training outreach campaign that seeks to help communities take a stand against human trafficking.
The “Not In My City” outreach is an awareness campaign in which community members talk to local businesses (truck stops, convenience stores, motels) about human trafficking and ask them to display a “Not In My City” poster.
This event is happening in Freestone County on January 20th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Freestone Community Center located at 739 Fm 80 South in Donie.
According to coordinators for the event, this is the first time the outreach will be happening at the same time in six counties across the Heart of Texas. Their goal is to make the whole community aware of human trafficking and to provide a resource for victims.
Other events are happening the same day in Clifton at Zion United Church, Hillsboro at Hill College, Whitney at The Forum, Marlin at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Mexia at Mexia Civic Center, and Waco at Antioch Community Church.
