Freestone County Burn Ban has been lifted by County Commissioners as of December 7, 2016.
County resident needing to burn, please call the Sheriff’s Office at 903-389-3236 and give them your name, location of the burn, and your contact information. By doing this, it may eliminate unnecessary pages to fires for area Volunteer Fire Departments.
As always when burning outdoors, be sure to pay attention to wind conditions as well as to your surrounding area to make sure the fire is contained properly and does not spread or get out of hand.
Supervise your burn at all times and if it does get out of hand, contact 911 immediately.
