Bobby Joe Mullen, 78, of Panama City Beach, Florida, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 after a brief illness. Bobby was born January 5, 1938 to Martin and Vera Etna Huckaby Mullen in Fairfield. He graduated with the Fairfield High School class of 1956, and just attended the class’ 60th reunion in May of this year.
Bobby was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Baxter Hospital Supply after 28 years service. He moved to Panama City Beach from Tucker, GA in 2001. Bobby loved animals and music and was a member of the Sunnyside Baptist Church where he played piano.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Pat Mullen of Panama City Beach; his son Phillip L. Mullen of Panama City Beach; a sister, Oma Beatrice Smith of Palestine, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; Polly Robertson, two brothers; William Mullen and Johnny Mack Mullen.
Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Glenn officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Memorial Garden.
