While news of Ukraine has been emerging daily from the war-stricken eastern European country, words of hope and inspiration will be heard when BMAA’s Larry Wood speaks during a special Sunday morning worship service this Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield.

Larry and Tammy have been in Ukraine since August of 2019 with the purpose of planting churches and establishing an English language school as an outreach ministry. As one might expect, earning the right to share the gospel takes time in a foreign country. Many of the Ukrainian people would ask why anyone would want to ‘leave the United States and come live here’. The answer from the Woods was simply ‘God directed us to do this in order that we help you learn English and tell you about His love for you.’

To date, there are three Baptist churches in Ukraine that Larry and Tammy are involved in. However, the main churches in Ukraine are Ukrainian Orthodox and they don’t like new churches. If these churches learn that some of their families are visiting the newly formed Baptist churches, those families are cursed and threatened to stop attending. Some will wait and see if the threats materialize and if they don’t, they begin attending the newly formed BMAA sponsored churches.

The family of Calvary Baptist Church invites you to attend this special worship service at 10:45 am this Sunday. Listen to the Woods as they share the many challenges they’ve faced in Ukraine and the vast amount of blessings that God has given them through their mission of sharing the gospel and planting churches in a foreign land.
