Life is a gift – no matter how long it is. The gift of blood can add extra life moments when days, minutes and even seconds count. Giving blood is an extraordinary thing that ordinary people can do for each other.
A wide array of Texans could receive blood transfusions this summer. Some hospital patients require blood to survive a motor vehicle accident.
A difficult childbirth could necessitate that a new mother receives a transfusion. And others might be fighting for six more months of life due to an aggressive cancer diagnosis.
When you give blood, the gifts for life could look something like these: grandparents with little time left might see a grandchild start college; a father could escort his daughter down the aisle, rather than sit in a hospital bed; and families create precious summer memories together.
