–The Seventeenth Annual Wortham Blues Festival, honoring “Blind” Lemon Jefferson, hosted by the Wortham Area Chamber of Commerce, will take over downtown Wortham, Texas on Saturday, September 8, 2018.
Line-up for this year’s event will be One Less Monkey, Classie Bailou, and Bobby Mercy Oliver and the Jam City Review.
Gates open at 3:00 p.m.; music starts at 6:00 p.m.
At the Seventeenth Annual Blue Festival, event-goers can again expect a lot of bang for their buck – the admission fee is only $10 for adults, $5 for kids, and FREE for kids five and under.

FAIRFIELD

–Show off your pride and joy during the Poker Run in Fairfield, Texas on Friday, September 7, 2018, don’t forget that we will also have judi online games.
Held in conjunction with the 21st Annual Show of Wheels, car show enthusiasts are invited to take a driving tour of the Fairfield area, while trying for the best (or, worst) poker hand for prizes.
Registration will open at 1:00 p.m. at Bayless NAPA Auto and close at 4:30 p.m. NAPA is located on the southeast corner of Highways 84 and 75.
Event is FREE for Show of Wheel contestants. Cost is $10 per vehicle for everyone else.
Hotdogs and drinks available prior to the cruise downtown.  A map of the cruise route will be available.
Cruise will end at the Freestone County courthouse and poker winners will be announced at approximately 6:30 p.m. There will be awards for the best and worst poker hands.

–The Big T Memorial BBQ Cookoff & Music Festival will be held Friday and Saturday, September 7 and 8, 2018 at the fairgrounds in Fairfield, Texas.
Musical lineup: Friday night includes Blacktop Mojo & JB And The Moonshine Band. Bands take the stage beginning at 9:00 p.m. Saturday night’s entertainment features Mitch Ballard with D. Vincent Williams and Chris Kirkpatrick (of NSYNC); Cameron Nelson; and Little Texas. Music starts at 6:00 p.m.
Gates open at 5:00 p.m. each night.
Friday night tickets are $15 each; Saturday night entry is $20 each.
This year is a Lone Star BBQ sanctioned event. Prize money and trophies total a whopping $10,000.
Fee is $200 per team.
There will be a Cook’s Choice Calcutta on Friday evening, and a second Calcutta competition on Saturday for Beans.

New this year is a Kids’ Cooking Event on Saturday. They will be serving up creative takes on the classic slider. Cost is $15; rules may be found online.
If you love playing 42, there is one more reason for you to join the fun on Saturday. The first ever 42 Tournament, sponsored by XTO Energy Farrar Production Office, will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Green Barn. Registration starts at 5:00 and entry is $20 per person.
Tickets for the big raffle are on sale now, and may also be purchased at the event. Raffle tickets are $20 each or 6 for $100.

–The 21st annual Show of Wheels will be held Saturday, 7, 2018 on the Courthouse Square in downtown Fairfield, Texas from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm.
Registration is $25 after September 1st.
Up for grabs are Cash Prizes, Trophies, and Plaques. Over 30 judged classes, plus Best In Show and Most Club Participation.
Admission is FREE for spectators. Come see the Cars, trucks, motorcycles and exotics.
Also on the Square will be the Fairfield Antique Tractor Show.

–The Ladies Downtown Poker Stroll will be held in conjunction with the Show of Wheels event on Saturday, September 8, 2018 on the Courthouse Square.
Registration will open at 10:00 a.m. at the Chamber tent, and close at 12:30 p.m.
A $100 Gift Card Award for Best Poker Hand will be presented. Winner announced during Show of Wheels awards.
