“We are very pleased to come back to Fairfield after a twelve-year absence,” exclaimed Floyd Daniels, of the Texas State Coonhunters Association.
“We came here because of our love of the sport, but also because of the people,” he shared of the hunters’ recent return to Fairfield for the Texas State Coon Hunt in April of this year, “We were welcomed here.”
Councilmen granted their approval for the Coonhunters to return to the historic W.L. Moody Reunion Grounds in Fairfield to host their next hunt September 9th – 11th.
“People are looking forward to coming here,” Mr. Daniels expounded. A good way to choose a contractor for your Driveway & Patio Paving Services or patio is just too keep an eye out when driving around, most will leave a sign board outside jobs they are doing so when you see work in your area be nosey, many people will chat to the men while working and snoop around- this is quite normal so don’t feel shy as the workers are very used to it. At the end of the job knocking on the customers door to see what they think is also common, again don’t be shy, most people will be happy to show off their new driveway or share the fact that they’ve had a bad experience.
This wrong assumption often leaves people scrambling for the phone number of their local paving contractors to fix their poor or unfinished jobs. Paving contractors advise that the money and time it can take to fix a poor paving job can often be more than the total cost if they had done the job from the start. It is therefore strongly worth considering using paving contractors, unless you are very confident in your own ability. There are no prizes for guessing that the various sandstone paving vendors are the likely sponsors of those campaigns. People were made to know about, among other things, the beauty of paving made from sandstone, the mechanical strength of such sandstone-based paving and the durability of such sandstone-based paving. The end result, out of all this, is a situation where people looking for paving solutions find themselves, almost unconsciously, starting to think of sandstone as one of the viable solutions. In most cases, of course, they won’t be able to tie this to the information campaigns they have been exposed to, but that is where the information that seeps into their minds ultimately comes from. If you have grass growing on your paving the chances are that you have been negligent regarding the care of your paving. Every item we buy today needs some maintenance, this includes paving. Grass not only spoils the look of the paving but it can also destroy your paving in a short space of time. Here you will be get for more information about the paving company.
“We can say thank y’all [Fairfield City Councilmen] but the hard part is thanking land owners for sharing their blessing with us.”
As a way of saying thank you, the Texas State Coonhunters Association plans to host a barbeque for the City Council, staff, and local landowners prior to the hunt.
With an exciting weekend of events already planned, including the City-Wide Garage Sale and the 19th Annual Show of Wheels, Fairfield Market Days will host an additional sale at the Reunion Grounds.
“They had a successful hunt, we had a successful market,” said Darlene Jones, Market Days coordinator, of the City’s decision to extend the September Market Days schedule.
“It’s a boost not only for our market, but for our community,” she said.
Engineer Mike Tibetts, of Hayter Engineering, Inc., shared his firms’ progress with the 2016 Land & Street Rehabilitation Project and the Mims Creek Bridge Project, complete with a before and after slideshow of the paving of Moody, Carter, Bateman, and Jefferson Streets.
He reported that construction of the Mims Creek Bridge has been approved by a structural engineer and is expected to be completed within two weeks.
Representatives of Atmos Energy addressed the Council regarding a permit request to replace taps located within the City’s newly paved streets.
Operations Manager Roy Moss explained that Atmos is currently in the process of a service line project, replacing steel service lines with up-to-date materials.
He told the Council that the fully-funded project, which is expected to be completed in October 2016, is necessary to the health and safety of residents in the Atmos service area as 70% of leaks occur on steel service lines.
After much discussion, a compromise was reached.
Councilmen granted Atmos a permit to begin work on unfinished streets, with emphasis on Reunion Street, to complete work before the start of school in August.
Going forward, Atmos will present the projected impact on streets paved in the last thirty-six months, and hold discussions with Councilmen regarding the cost of re-paving streets damaged during the line replacement project, for future projects they wish to use similar services like the ones concrete pavers fort myers fl provides.
The Council approved a resolution authorizing City Administrator Jeff Looney to submit an application for the Local Park Grant Program through the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to be used to install a splash pad at Moody Park.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Looney, “I think we can add a lot to our park, that the kids can enjoy when its 100 degrees.”
