Betty “Patsy” Jean Dyer, 88, of Fairfield, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep at 3:45 am on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Fairfield Nursing and Rehab in Fairfield, Texas. Betty was born June 12, 1930, in Malone, Texas to parents William and Elsie (Hennig) Muesse where she was raised. She married Robert “R.C.”Carlisle Dyer June 3, 1945. May 6, 1947
R.C. returned home from being stationed in the Philippines just in time to welcome their first child Sandra on May 7, 1947. In 1948 they welcomed their first son Kenneth and in 1950 their second son Gary.
R.C. and Betty moved to Fairfield, Texas in the 1970’s. Owned and operated D&H Carpet until they closed it in the late1980’s. Betty loved doing so many things from sewing, dancing, decorating, moving furniture, gardening, writing, dominoes, and reading her Bible. She absolutely loved flowers, all different colors, looking fancy and stuff.
Betty was a loving mother, sister, grandmother. She was very proud of her family and loved everyone dearly, especially all the babies. She loved get togethers, all the food and the sweets; anytime with family was very special to her. She will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved her.
Survived by her daughter Sandra Markwardt of Fairfield, Texas; son Kenneth Dyer and wife Sondra of Corsicana, Texas; son Gary Dyer and wife Beverly of Corsicana, Texas; one Brother Billy Muesse and wife Lemma of Waco, Texas; Grandchildren Teresa Schmidt and husband Wesley of Cuero, Texas; Scott Markwardt of Fairfield, Texas; Kyle Markwardt and wife Chassidy of Fairfield, Texas; Sonya Robinson of Corsicana, Texas; Shannon Dyer and wife Shelley of Corsicana, Texas; Heath Dyer and wife Stephanie of Waxahachie, Texas; Julie Hollingsworth and husband Hank of Corsicana, Texas; 18 Great Grandchildren, 12 Great Great Grand Children, and 1 Great Great Great Granddaughter.
Preceding her in death are her parents; Husband R.C. Dyer; one brother James Muesse and sister-in-law Billie June; Granddaughter Pamela Armstrong ; Grandson Kenny Dyer; son in law Dalton Markwardt; and a great grandson Michael Sanchez.
Visitation and Funeral will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home 1530 Nth 45th Street, Corsicana, Texas. The visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00p.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Betty will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband of 47 years at Frost Cemetery in Frost, Texas. Due to the weather there won’t be graveside services.
