A graveside service for Betty Hamilton, 94, of Athens will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Fort Laramie Cemetery in Ft. Laramie, Wyoming with Father Ray Moss officiating.
Ms. Hamilton went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2020 in Athens.
Betty Lou (Long) Hamilton was born February 13, 1926 in Crosby, Wyoming the daughter of John Long and Anna (Bretthaur) Long. She was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church. Betty was an entrepreneur and small business owner who in her career owned a fabric store, appliance store, campground and she also managed hotels/motels. She enjoyed history, reading, and playing bridge. Betty was a hard worker and a loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed by all she knew and loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband John Luther Hamilton; sister June Wheeler and brother Jack Long.
She is survived by her children, Dr. John L. Hamilton and wife Glenda of Tyler, Kathy Eastman and husband Jerry of Fairfield; one brother Bob Long and wife Joyce of Denver, Colorado; five grandchildren, Michael John Hamilton and wife Krista, Nicole Stegman and husband Dennis, Mark Hamilton and wife Michelle, Jeffrey Eastman and wife Julie, Chad David and wife Kristina; fourteen great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
