Renowned local trio, Bella Voce, is known for their delicate harmonies and wide variety of musical styles—including ’50s and ’60s favorites, patriotic and gospel. But this month, most of their performances are, for good reason, Christmas-inspired.

Southern Oaks subdivision is presenting a Christmas greeting to the entire Richland Chambers Lake community in the form of a free concert featuring Bella Voce on Saturday, December 8, at 7 pm. Concert guests will hear a variety of lively, festive holiday music—with a full evening of songs ranging from novelties like “No Time to Diet” to such traditional numbers as “O Holy Night.”

Bella Voce—the words mean “beautiful voices” in Italian–is comprised of Joanna Fritz, Cathy Kjellsen and Janet Martin. All three women live near Richland Chambers Lake and have been singing and performing all their lives. Fritz is pianist for both the Lakeside Methodist and New Hope Baptist churches, both located on FM 416 in the St. Elmo area. She’s also choir director at New Hope and in her “other life” is the president and CEO of the Navarro County Chamber of Commerce. Kjellsen is a member of the Lakeside Methodist Choir and Janet McBride is music director for Lakeside. Since the group’s formation in 2012, the trio has performed all over the northeast Texas area at churches, and for organizational luncheons, special events and many, many community activities.

“We’re so pleased that Bella Voce will be sharing their wonderful holiday music with us,” said Mary Schutz, Southern Oaks’ activity director. “It’s really special for us, that we can open our clubhouse–which is really more like a community center–to all the residents of our area to come together at Christmastime in this way.”

The Southern Oaks Clubhouse is located just north of the Shell Station on FM 416 (about 12 miles east of Streetman).

Seating is theater-style, first-come, first-served. There is no admission charge. A light dessert and coffee will be served following the concert. For more information or for directions, call Mary at 903-389-7586.
