Get ready to celebrate the Great Solar Eclipse at one of the following special watch parties to be held on Monday, April 8, 2024.
FAIRFIELD
City of Fairfield will host their party at the W.L. Moody fairgrounds at 839 E. Commerce Street in Fairfield. Eclipse glasses will be available, first come first served.
Face painting will be available for the kids, and food trucks on site to enjoy.
Check out all the Science Projects in the Green Barn Civic Center.
Volunteers are being sought to assist with the event from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. For further details, contact the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce at 903-389-5792.
TEAGUE
City of Teague’s watch party will be held at the Booker T Washington Park on Jefferson Street from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Eclipse glasses will be available for free, first come, first served.
FORT PARKER STATE PARK
All Texas State Parks in the path of the Solar Eclipse will be having special activities for park visitors that day, including Fort Parker State Park located in Mexia.
Unfortunately, all camping sites at Fort Parker have been pre-reserved for that day.
However, day passes will become available on March 8th. There is limited compacity, so make sure to go online to make your reservation as soon as possible so you don’t miss out.
Entry fee for adults (13 years and up) is $4.00 for the day. Kids (12 and younger) are free.
Whichever watch party you choose to attend, be sure to bring your telescopes, chairs, and blankets and have a wonderful time!
