Community groups are offering free school supplies, and event health screenings, haircuts, and more. Mark your calendars for the following events:
Wortham
It is time for Wortham students to get FREE school supplies!
On Friday, August 3, 2018 supplies will be given out from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., or until they run out, at First United Methodist Church Family Live Center in Wortham.
You can pre-register by calling 254-625-1874, or 254-765-3544. If you have been in the last couple of years, you know it is important to come early!
Streetman
It’s time again to get the kids ready for school! Let us help with new backpacks filled with school supplies.
Plus, screenings for health, vision & dental by Freestone Medical Center.
Caney Baptist Church will host their Back-To-School Bash on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Featuring ventriloquists: Freida Sinclair & Willie Joe.
There will be water slides to enjoy, Fire Safety demonstrations, Lunch served, and much more.
Event is for ages Kindergarten thru 6th Grade.
Must attend all events for backpacks. Parent must be present.

Teague
Teague ISD and the Teague community have united to create the fourth annual “Teague Community Back-To-School Rally” set for August 9th. The event will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the High School Cafeteria.
The mission of the rally is to motivate and empower students and parents, and to enhance community involvement while creating a fun sense of city pride, citywide.

Fairfield
Tools For School is hosting a FREE Community Event on Sunday, August 12, 2018 beginning at 1:30 p.m. at the Green Barn located at the Freestone County Fairgrounds in Fairfield.
This Back-To-School event will provide FREE School Supplies, FREE Basic Haircuts & Trims, and FREE lunch!
Don’t miss this great opportunity to get your kids ready for school!
This will be the group’s third annual event, and it is less than a month away.
“Over the last two years, we have given out over 400 backpacks with supplies for kids in our community,” says Jordan Daniels.

Volunteers are also needed for:

“And mostly, we just need people that love loving on people and their community,” says Daniels.
