As part of her grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts Rural Tours Initiative, which helps to take live music to underserved areas of Texas, award-winning, singer-songwriter Shelley King is set to perform at the Teague Public Library from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024.
King released her 10th album this past November, Madam Mystic which leads with the opening track and single “Time Means Nothing.” The original song composed by King reflects on how isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic affects our perception of time, leading her to assert that “what matters is here and now.”
As Austin’s music royalty, King is taking her press-approved “powerhouse” and “show-stopping” vocals on the road this spring and summer for an eclectic array of performances. Due to the groundswell of support for her recent shows and her latest album, more dates have been added for her unique Rural Tour, as well as additional solo shows and new dates with collaborator Carolyn Wonderland.
King’s talent and commitment to putting on a great live show, as well as her commitment to being of service to her community, led her to be recognized by the Texas Legislature and appointed Official Texas State Musician. The organization has also recently given her a grant to bring her live show to underserved areas of Texas as part of the Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) Rural Tours Initiative.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to see one of Texas’ great musical artists!
