The City of Fairfield received good news for the month of August, with sales tax collection up more than 13% over this time last year.
Collections were slightly down for the other three cities in Freestone County, Texas.

However, sales tax collection for the year to date (January – August) show an increase for the Cities of Teague, Streetman, and Fairfield.

Here are the numbers:

–Fairfield: $2225,502.06 in August of 2021, which is 13.02% higher than last year. To date, the City of Fairfield has collected $1,304,246.69 in sales tax for 2021, which is 9.82% higher than the previous year.

–Teague: $59,399.50 in August of 2021, which is only 0.58% lower than last year. To date, the City of Teague has collected $410,721.68 in sales tax for 2021, which is 1.28% higher than the previous year.

–Streetman: $5,988.09 in August of 2021, which is 3.97% lower than last year. To date, the City of Streetman has collected $50,456.20 in sales tax for 2021, which is 16.91% higher than the previous year.

–Wortham: $17,293.36 in August of 2021, which is 6.31% lower than last year. To date, the City of Wortham has collected $116,977.49 in sales tax for 2021, which is 7.73% higher than the previous year.
