The ATM at Wells Fargo was almost stolen last Sunday, January 26, 2020 early morning.
Brinks alerted the Fairfield Police Department around 5:00 a.m. that there was an attempt to steal the ATM in progress.
As they responded they could see that the three suspect had wrapped chains around the ATM and attempted to drag it away with a vehicle according to Fairfield Police Chief David Utsey.
While no entry was made into the nearly impenetrable ATM, they did do severe damage.
The suspects fled on foot, abandoning the stolen vehicle they had attempted to use.
