A traffic stop resulting in the recovery of drugs, drug paraphernalia, and an AR-15 rifle was made by Freestone County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, February 23, 2018 on Highway 80, just south of Donie.

Deputy Darby and Lieutenant Willis conducted the stop on a vehicle for failing to signal al left turn and to display a license plate on a trailer.

A search of the vehicle resulted in confiscation of approximately 22 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, digital scales, and packing materials, as well as a loaded AR-15 rifle and a sum of US currency as a result of drug profits.

Both driver and passenger were arrested for Manufacturing/Delivery Controlled Substance PG 1, more than 4 grams and less than 200 grams (first degree felony); unlawful possession of firearm by felon; and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

They were arrested, transported, and booked into Freestone County Jail.
