Mike started drawing Disney characters in the second grade and in his seventies, he maintains a passion for art. Mike is a Teague native, now living in Sugar Land. He is looking forward to his second Trinity Star Arts Council exhibition at this fall’s Show of Wheels, and will be joined by his son, Alan, who is also an artist.

Mike has been putting together a collection of ‘Classic Wheels,’ most done in watercolor, although her works in other mediums. These colorful cars jump off the paper and ignite vivid memories in those viewing his work.

Mike is prolific in watercolor, acrylic painting, multimedia and scroll saw. He doesn’t create for money, but rather the thrill of pleasing clients with a creation made especially for them.

Mike won Best of Show in Scroll Saw magazine for a piece of high relief fashioned wood as well as having a painting of a pickup truck published in Hemming’s Motor News.

Mike’s iconic car art and other pieces will be on display during the Show of Wheels Saturday, September 6, at the Trinity Star Art Gallery, 115 S. Mount, Fairfield, Texas, from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Meet the artist and enjoy sweets and treats.

His work will remain on display through September 19th with gallery hours Tuesday through Friday, 1:00-5:00 p.m.
