Interactive, innovative, and definitely interesting was ‘The Art of Sound’ exhibit hosted by Trinity Star Arts Council this past Saturday.
The interactive art exhibit featured Fairfield’s own Janette Gibson Davis, a classically trained jazz saxophonist.

Supporting her during a live performance was Tayy the DJ, who crafts a unique sound with elements of soul, R&B and electronic vibes.
Together, they share their musical talents in the DFW area, and beyond, with Janette G. Entertainment.

Fairfield’s own Janette G. gave a live performance during her interactive art enhibit the past weekend that combined music, art and technology.

Attendees were served hors d’oeuvres and bubbly as they arrived.

Some paused in the front room to visit with the musician and her family before venturing behind the black curtains to view the art installation.

The room was bathed in ever-changing light, playing with the colors of each of the 14 art pieces.

‘Frequencies of Fantasy’ is an oval of rich color in a pattern reminiscent of a tortiose shell. The music attached to this piece incorporated water drops intermittently interrupting a psychedelic, echoing thread with a faint background of what could have been made by frogs and bongos. Intriguing.

Beside each titled work was a QR code which gave access to the melodies corresponding with them.

In the middle of the room was a tall mask-like rendering called ‘Terror in Color.’ It featured ominous, spooky sounds with flute-like notes.

Along the wall were the abstracts, with names such as ‘Harmony of Hues,’ ‘Wandering Spirits,’ and ‘Lyrical Fluidity.’

Some of the corresponding music contained strong vibrating sounds with a haunting wind. Others with rhythmic staccato notes or a flowing, dripping background.

Cetainly a wonderful beginning for the TSAC 2025 season. Stay tuned for the next exhibit in February.
