An individual impersonating a Texas Ranger was arrested Tuesday, May 12, 2020 after a conversation with a Freestone County Sheriff’s Deputy.
Mitchell Higgs, 31, charged with impersonating a public servant.

Mitchell Higgs was arrested and charged with impersonation of a public servant.


He had an imitation Texas Ranger badge in his possession.


Higgs is currently still in jail with a $10,000 bond.


“It’s never a good idea to Impersonate a Peace Officer, and to claim to be one to an actual Peace Officer, is an even worse idea,” states Freestone County Sheriff Jeremy Shipley.
