On October 12, 2025, at approximately 4:00 PM, Teague Police Department responded to an incident at Dollar General, 804 US Hwy 84 W, Teague. An off-duty Teague PD officer standing at the checkout counter observed a female trigger the store’s anti-theft alarm as she exited. The officer pursued and detained the female, later identified as Michelle Gilliard, and another individual until on-duty officers arrived. The other person was released at the scene with no charges.
Officers conducted a timely search of the scene, recovered the reported stolen merchandise, and returned it to the store. During the investigation officers located 3.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine, several prescription pills, and a marijuana blunt in Gilliard’s possession.
Gilliard was arrested and transported to custody.
