Inspired by the face jugs of Brother Carl Block and the memory jugs of Brother Bruce Lee Webb, Parker and Emory Black display their finished pieces, made during Art Camp at the Armadillo.
“We had a fun group at this year’s camp,” says Andy Emmons, co-owner of Armadillo Emporium in downtown Fairfield, Texas.
A folk artist by trade, Emmons teaches drawing, painting and sculpture during their summer Art Camp.
According to Emmons, the sculptures made on Day 3 were inspired by the face jugs of creative potter, Carl Block, and the memory jugs of salvager artist, Bruce Lee Webb.
Assisting during the three-day camp was the Emporium’s co-owner, and sister, Julee Emmons.
Located on the courthouse square, the Armadillo Emporium regularly offers art classes, as well as selling unique gift items and collectibles from over thirty vendors.
They are open Tuesday thru Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
GIVING THE THUMBS UP on a job well done is Armadillo Art Camper Aaron Neal.
