Ballots by Mail
Voters needing to apply for a ballot by mail have until Friday, February 20, 2026 to turn in their applications.
In Texas, voting by mail is limited to the following voters:
–65 years or older
–Sick or disabled
–Expected to give birth within 3 weeks of Election Day
–Out of the county on Election Day and during the period for early voting by personal appearance
–Confined in jail, but are otherwise eligible
–Civilly committed under Chapter 841 of the Texas Health and Safety Code
Applications for ballot by mail may be obtain at your local elections office or by downloading the application from www.votetexas.gov/voting-by-mail/index.html.
To vote by mail, voters must provide ONE of the following numbers on your ABBM: (1) Texas Driver’s License, Texas Personal Identification Number or Election Identification Certificate Number issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (NOT your voter registration VUID number); OR (2) If you have not been issued one of the numbers above, the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.
Applications should be sent to Early Voting Clerk – Michelle Mays at P.O. Box 1150, Fairfield, Texas 75840 and must be received in their office not later than close of business on February 20, 2026.
