Freestone Cancer Support Group’s annual Fall Style Show was a major success this year, bringing in the most money over any other single event in the past 12-years of being an official organization. This year’s event brought in a whopping $13,795.00, and that’s AFTER all expenses paid! Amazing!
Event attendees were treated to a welcome by Diana Lewis and an invocation by Bettye Trask, followed by a meal of chicken parmesan, walnut and feta salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing, garlic bread, tea and water, and their choice of peach, blueberry, or cherry cobbler. The food, prepared by Kenny Bulger, was delicious as usual.
After the meal, Janet Bulger introduced the 2024 Little Miss Freestone County Royalty and Master of Ceremonies, Buzz Russell.
Guests were then shown beautiful new looks of clothes, jewelry, shoes, and accessories by The Jaded Spade (Fairfield), Serenity Spa (Mexia), Brenda’s Closet (Fairfield), Twisted Sisters Shoetique (Waco), Juls by Jul (Fairfield), and The Yoakum Mercantile (Teague).
Between the boutiques showing, many door prizes were given, provided by a slew of Freestone County and surrounding area businesses.
After the style show, Buzz recognized all members of FCSG and their committee.
Mrs. Emily Terry was recognized as the longest cancer survivor, 47 years.
Mrs. Lewis took to the mic again to recognize sponsors for this year’s event. Major sponsors included Friends and Family of Steel, Freedom by Ed Morse, Te’Jun the Texas Cajun, Equipment Placement Services, and The Old Gin.
In the last 12 years, FCSG has given more than $420,000 (and a million prayers) to Freestone County residents fighting cancer.
They would like to thank all sponsors, attendees, volunteers, and donators for their kind support.
