In 2014 when Gulf coast partners become owners of Teague Nursing home they not only wanted to provide quality care for the community but also give back.
The second annual Blessing bag for Freestone homebound seniors was a great success.
Andrea Lopez of Teague Nursing and Rehab and Stephanie Overall of Freestone senior center arranged 90 bag of goodies for freestones seniors participating in the Meals on Wheels program.
They would like to thank Freestone Medical Center for being our biggest provider of random home goods: shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, food, paper goods, and more.
A collection site was established for the employees of Freestone Medical for donations, and they went above and beyond.
Jordan home health services donated 90 hygiene produces.
Teague nursing and rehab provided the bags and hot chocolate. They also had two amazing residents of Freestone County, Alice Waldrop and Rachel Waldrop, who donated a large amount of home goods.
This would of not been possible if our community did not come together to help others. Selfless giving is the true Christmas spirit. THANK YOU.
If you would like to volunteer your time, Freestone Meals on Wheels is always needing drivers. Feel free to call the senior center at 1-903-389-5800. They would love the support.
“We are looking forward to the third annual blessing bags 2019,” says Andrea Lopez, Regional Marketing Coordinator.
Keep this event in mind: collection will start first week of December at the Freestone Senior Center.
