Katherine and Edwin Beaver
This story is about an unusual event (marriage) with family members all married 50 or more years.
Edwin Duain Beaver and Martha Katherine Boyd Beaver were married September 18, 1937 being 67-plus years at the death of Edwin on July 11, 2004. Katherine was born in Navarro County but moved to Freestone County as a small child. They lived in Freestone County the rest of their lives.
This family consist of three children: Charlotte Ruth Beaver Mullen married Perry Clois Mullen on November 22, 1958 being married 63-plus years; Kenneth Edwin Beaver married Kathy Jean Harrison Beaver on November 16, 1964 being married 57-plus years; and Clifford Paul Beaver married Susan Nell Sheppard on August 5, 1972 being married 50 years.
Perry Clois and Charlotte Ruth have two children: Marvin Clois Mullen married Linda Sue Jonas Muillen on June 20, 1981; and Lanette Mullen Burns married Michael David Burns on June 21, 1980.
Marvin Mullen and Linda have two children: Sarah Katherine Mullen Woodard married Valance Quentin Woodard on April 9, 2016; and Samuel Clois Mullen married Amie Leigh Romine Mullen on My 25, 2013. They have one daughter, Leah Ruth Mullen, age 4.
Lanette and Michael have two children and three grandchildren. David Kyle Burns and son Braxton David Burns, age 13. Michael Justin Burns married Allyson Elizabeth Holmes Burns on September 13, 2014. They have two daughters: Perry Elizabeth Burns age 6, and Lyndee Kate Burns age 1.
Perry Clois and Charlotte have four great-grandchildren: Braxton Burns, Perry Burns, Lyndee Burns and Leah Mullen.
Clint Mullen married Lucy Moore Mullen on July 30, 1921 and were married 62-plu years at the death of Clint in March 1984. They had nine children, five girls and four boys. Three of this family were married over 50 years. Deward Mullen and Margie Nell Davis Mullen were married on November 13, 1953 being married 60-plus years at her death. Mary Lois Mullen McFarlin and Williams McFarlin were married 40-plus years at his death. She later married Bob Estes and they were married 20-plus years at his death. Perry Clois and Mary Lois are twins.
(She outdone me; She had six children, 15 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
The Lord has been good to us in so many ways. We are thankful.
Kenneth Edwin Beaver and Kathy Jean Harrison Beaver were married on November 26, 1964. This November, we will be married 58 years.
We have one son, Paul Harrison Beaver and one grandson, Grant Harrison Beaver. We are both retired and our son works for Saber Power Services in Rosharon, Texas but he actually lives in West Columbia, Texas. Our grandson is a junior at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas where he plays baseball.
Kathy’s parents, Everett Dean Harrison, Sr. and Martha Alma Chavers Harrison were married on July 24, 1937 and were married 46 years where they were separated by his death on December 18, 1983. Martha was reunited with him on May 8, 2012.
Paul Beaver and Susan Sheppard were married in Teague, Texas on August 5, 1972. They had three children and raised them in Teague.
Their oldest daughter, Leslie Beaver Sims, married Shannon Sims on July 30, 1994. They have six daughters: Brittnee Nicole, Morgan Elizabeth, Mallorie Nicole, Mollie Shannon, Daleena Keovychith, and Davina Keovychith. Brittnee passed away in a car wreck when she was 8 years old. Morgan married Brandon Campbell on May 20, 2017 and has two daughters: Charleigh Grace and Carsyn Black. Mallorie is to be married on October 8, 2022 to Jacob Maggard. Molllie is a senior at Teague High School. Daleena is in the sixth grade and Davina is in the third grade.
Their second born is David Beaver who married Emily Carroll on December 13, 2003. They have two daughters: Lily Katherine is a junior and Reese Carrol is in eighth grade.
The third child is Leah Beaver Akeman who married Aaron Akeman on March 29, 2008. They have three children: Kane Marshall and Kinley Britt, who are in seventh grade, and Ava Kate, who is in Kindergarten.
Paul and Susan were married 50 years ago on August 5, 2002. This is quite an accomplishment but they had awesome examples set for them.
Both their parents were married 50-plus years. Sonny and Chotcie Sheppard were married 50 years on February 20, 1998 and Edwin and Katherine Beaver were married 50 years on September 18, 1987.
