Freestone County schools, students , and parents are getting ready for the 2026-2027 school year.
Several schools have updates or changes to dress codes, backpack policies, etc. and are hosting meet the teachers and orientations to prepare students and parents for the new school year.
All updates and special event dates can be viewed on each respective school district’s website and Facebook page.

Dew ISD
Dew ISD’s student online enrollment started July 22, and runs through Monday, August 3, 2026.
–NEW Students: Must create a new Parent Portal account
–RETURNING Students: The email used must be the same email used in the school’s system
–ALL Students: Must be completely registered by August 3

Need computer access? Computers will be available for use on Thursday, July 30, during Meet the Teacher or at other times by appointment only.

Wortham ISD
Wortham Bulldog’s annual Back to School Bash will be held Monday, August 3rd at the WISD gym beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Show off your school spirit as they feature this year’s athletes, band members and cheerleaders.
Come early for ‘Meet the Teacher’ at 6:00 p.m. at all campuses and gather all the information you need for the coming school year.
It will be a fun evening games, prizes, food and music.

Wortham High School will be hosting their annual Senior Sunrise service on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
The countdown to graduation starts now!
WHS Class of 2027 will gather at the football field beginning at 6:30 a.m. to watch the sunrise as they kick of their senior year together.
It will pass quickly, make all the memories you can!

Teague ISD
Teague High School is hosting Fish Camp for incoming Freshmen.
This fun event will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the High School. Come join us!
Teague High School and Junior High announce the School Dress Code for the 2026-2027 school year.
–Leggings/Tights are allowed this year
–No holes in jeans above the knee
–Only NATURAL hair color
–NO facial pierces, girls may wear earrings
–Shorts need to be mid-thigh or fingertip in length
–Boys’ hair length cannot be below the collar
–NO crop tops that expose the belly
–NO pajamas, house shoes, or blankets
Also, this year all backpacks MUST be clear.
Fairfield ISD
Fairfield ISD announced a change to its policy for serving meals to children served under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2026-2027 school year.
Schools qualifying to operate the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) provide breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminate the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals.
This new approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals.
ALL enrolled students in Fairfield ISD may get one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day!
