Fairfield High School is sending two track athletes to the State Track Meet on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in Austin after taking top spots at the Region 3 Track Meet held in Huntsville last Friday, May 1, 2026.
Eagle, Brayden Thornburg (at top, right), took a Second Place finish in Discus with his best throw of the year, 150 feet & 4 inches. He is the first young man to qualify for the state track meet since 2016. Discus will begin at 11:00 a.m.
Lady Eagle, Blayke Brackens (at top, left), will be participating in two events. She took First Place in Long Jump with a personal best of 18 feet and Third Place in Triple Jump with another personal best of 36 feet & 11 inches. Long Jump will begin at 9:00 a.m. and Triple Jump at 1:00 p.m.

–Girls 4 x 400 – 8th (Faith King, Blayke Brackens, Imani Brackens, Addison Shipley)
