Corporal Silas is originally from Mississippi. He currently resides in Ellis County. He is not currently married and is a father. “My kids are my life, and I am proud of each of them and their accomplishments.”

Corporal Silas comes from a family of law enforcement and military. His father served in the military, and he has several uncles who work in law enforcement in Mississippi.

Corporal Silas moved to Texas and enrolled in the Navarro College Police Academy. He served 8 years as a police officer in Mississippi, then worked for the Jackson Police Department and the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department.

He came to work for the Fairfield Police Department in 2024. He is a certified K9 Officer and held the same position with Hinds County Sheriff’s Department. “I am proud to represent the Fairfield Police Department,” says Officer Silas.

–Patrol Corporal – Joshua Ashley

Corporal Ashley is from Fairfield and still resides in town. He is married with no children.

“I have always wanted to be a police officer ever since I was a child,” he explains. “After years of working meaningless jobs, I decided to send myself through the academy and begin a career that actually mattered to me.”

Corporal Ashley attended Navarro Police Academy in 2019-2020. Fairfield PD is his first and only department to serve, and he started on April 15, 2020.

–Officer / Public Information Officer – Tyler West

Officer West is originally from Berkeley, CA but currently resides in Dallas, TX. He and his wife have five children.

For as long as he can remember, he has always wanted to be a ‘superhero,’ he says. “I’ve always felt most myself when in the service of others.

The idea of making someone’s day, maybe someone who is dealing with the worst day of their life, just a little bit better, means everything.”

Officer West attended Navarro College Police Academy in 2023-2024 and Fairfield PD has been his only home for policing, beginning in November of 2024, although he did serve as a correctional officer from 2015-2023.

“In the year since I started with the Fairfield Police Department, I have been given incredible opportunities as well as having some of the best knowledge and experience passed down to me from my peers and supervisors,” he says. “With that incredible wealth of support, in the year since I have been with the Department I have been assigned the Public Information Officer as well as Head of the Field Training Program and soon, I will be given administrative duties for the new LPR system. I was also informed that each month I was able to complete the most citations throughout the department. With this, I have been graciously awarded both the Rookie of the Year Award as well as the Officer of the Year Award. Accomplishments that mean the world to me.”

–Officer Joseph Tinsley

Officer Tinsley is from Teague, but he attended school here in Fairfield.

“I am part of the new cadet program that Chief Gallegos started back in 2023,” he explains. “I graduated from the Navarro College Police Academy back in 2024.”

Working as armed security and interacting with different police agencies inspired him to become a police officer.

“I love my job and what I do.”

–Officer Seth Patton

Officer Patton is originally from Louisiana, and he moved to Texas when he was young.

He has been serving in the Army since he was 18 years old. He is married with a newborn baby girl.

Officer Patton was hired in 2025 and started the police academy in August of that same year. He graduated from the Navarro College Police Academy in January of 2026.

“I have recently completed the field training program and am currently working on my own, answering calls for service,” he explains. “I still have army duties that I am currently completing as well. I will be done with my commitment within the next few weeks. I am honored to be a part of the Fairfield Police Department.”
