Freestone County Retired Teachers Association is hosting Tim Lee, Executive Director of Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA) at their April meeting.
Freestone County RTA will meet on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Fairfield Harmony Presbyterian Church located at 119 W. Main St. beginning at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome!
Mr. Lee will be updating on all things current with Active Public School Employees and Retired Public School Employees’ TRS Pensions, the steps to get it back into actuarial soundness, and what we as annuitants and future annuitants need to do to help.
There are things going on that need to be heard and understood about our financial futures.
TRTA is the only organization that is advocating for retired and active public school employees.
Now, more than ever, active school employees need to be paying attention to what is happening in the state legislature that affects their retirement future.
