Loren C. Miller, born March 18, 1946, passed away on February 7, 2026.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, remembered for his patriotism, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others.
Loren attended Dike High School and later Business College.
He worked as a mechanic at John Deere in Waterloo, IA, and Tennant in Dallas, TX, later owning Cross Roads Store in Oakwood, TX. He also served as a Volunteer Firefighter with the Butler Fire Department and worked as an Environmental Inspector for Freestone County.
Loren proudly served 23 years in the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, TX, and he was also a Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge in Iowa.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, flea markets, fishing, and watching old westerns.
Loren married Roberta Jo McAndrews on April 17, 1971.
He is survived by his wife; his children Margret Arbogast and her husband Stewart McVay, Robert McAndrews, and Chad Miller and his wife Summer Miller; grandchildren Brent Carpenter, Morgan Miller, and Madden Miller; great-grandchildren Grace, Brian Austin and his wife Crystal Burch, and Payton Carpenter; and great-great-grandchildren Waylon Carpenter and Ezekiel Burch.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lyman and Hilda Miller, siblings Randy Miller and Becky Bruce, and children John McAndrews and Vicky McAndrews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield at 2 PM.
Loren will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
