Dear Editor,
MERRY CHRISTMAS! I’m 82 years old and was surprised after a colonoscopy in April to hear that I had rectal cancer. Since then, I have survived 28 radiation and 8 chemotherapy treatments as well as other procedures and diagnostic tests.
After a recent diagnostic surgery, the surgeon seemed surprised to tell me that she wasn’t able to take a biopsy of my tumor because it was gone. PRAISE THE LORD!
Because of your prayers, God, through treatments, has eliminated the tumor!
THANKS to everyone for their prayers during my cancer marathon trek.
THANKS to my Texas Oncology-Dallas and Baylor Scott White-Dallas doctors’ team. They and their staff treated me with professionalism, respect and patience.
THANKS to the American Cancer Society and the Gene & Jerry Jones – Hope Lodge, Dallas for providing me with free lodging and a supportive environment.
THANKS to the Freestone Cancer Support Group for their financial assistance and prayers.
THANKS to my family, friends, First United Methodist Church-Fairfield folks, and community members for covering me with ongoing prayers as well as encouraging me with texts, calls, cards, visits, and food during this journey.
We serve a God of abundance. Please join me in sharing the goodness of God with others during this Christmas season and beyond.
