At just 22 years old, Dylon stands as a testament to resilience and determination. Living with Tourette’s syndrome, he has navigated a life filled with unique challenges, including involuntary movements and vocal tics. Yet, he has never allowed his condition to define him. Instead, he embraced his quirks and transformed them into part of his vibrant personality. Most around him don’t even know about his affliction.
From the moment he laced up his first pair of football cleats at age four, Dylon found solace and strength on the field. His passion for the sport not only fueled his athleticism but also nurtured his tenacity and teamwork skills. Born and raised in Ennis, Texas, Dylon moved with his parents and brothers to Fairfield, Texas, right before starting high school. He excelled at football, playing on Varsity with his older brother throughout his freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior years. Throughout his life, he excelled academically, proving he was not just a talented athlete but also a dedicated student with a sharp mind and a charming sense of humor that drew people to him.
Dylon always chose to face his challenges head-on, never once using Tourette’s as an excuse. Instead, he focused on his goals and aspirations, leading him to Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. There, he has pursued a major in Communication Studies and a minor in Advertising, all while maintaining a balance between academics and his personal commitments to pay his own way. Dylon often says he hasn’t done anything special; one of his main motivations for going to college is to inspire his siblings, both older and younger, as he is the fifth child out of six. His hard work is set to pay off as he prepares to graduate in December 2025.
Dylon’s faith is the cornerstone of his life. He is dedicated to Jesus, feeling blessed and placing Christ at the forefront of his decisions. This unwavering commitment enriches his journey, providing him with strength and guidance as he tackles life’s challenges.
With graduation on the horizon, Dylon is ready to take the next step in his career. He plans to work at Freedom Financial Agency in Frisco, Texas, as a Financial Advisor and Insurance Agent. His journey is proof that with determination, a positive attitude, and a refusal to let obstacles overshadow one’s dreams—along with a strong faith in God—anything is possible. Dylon’s story inspires us all to embrace our individuality and conquer our own challenges with grace and perseverance.
