Santa Claus will be in several places at once in Freestone County this week!
The jolly old elf has plans to ride in the Parade of Lights in Teague, enjoy cookies on the Bricks of downtown Wortham, and visit with his youngest fans on the Square in Fairfield.
Here are a few of the events that will be kicking off the holiday season:
Fairfield
This Saturday, December 6, 2025, the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce and the City of Fairfield present Christmas on the Square & Superhero Parade from 3:00-7:00 p.m.
Santa will be on site to greet children, hear their wish list, and take photos.
There will be wagon rides, food trucks, reading of the Christmas Story, local vendor shopping, face painting, crafts, balloon artist, and more!
The annual Live Nativity Scene will be back, presented by The River of Life Church of Fairfield.

3:00 – Superhero Holiday Parade Lineup at Elementary School
3:30 – Christmas Story Reading by Pastor McVey
4:00 – Superhero Christmas Parade
4:30-7:00 – River of Life Petting Zoo
5:00-7:00 – Visit with Santa
5:30 – Community Entertainment Performances
6:15 – Christmas Tree Lighting
6:30 – River of Life Christmas Drama Performance

Teague
On Thursday, December 4, 2025, Teague’s annual Parade of Lights will travel down Main Street beginning at 6:00 p.m. (Participants should line up at Teague Elementary at 5:30 p.m)
Families are encouraged to come early to enjoy a Hamburger Supper sponsored by FUMC – Teague. This is part of the ‘Project Christmas Kids’ effort. Plates are $10 for take out and served from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Following the parade, join Santa for cookies and a chat at B-RI Railroad Museum until 8:00 p.m.
Then, on Saturday, December 6th, join the Teague community for the official lighting at the City Park on 8th Ave beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Decorated by local businesses and organizations, this always makes for a beautiful Christmas display.
Wortham
Come enjoy Pictures with Santa, cookies, wagon rides, miniature horses, food, and hot cocoa in Wortham on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
From 6:00-8:00 p.m., bring the whole family to downtown Wortham and enjoy Christmas on the Bricks with the community.

Christmas at The Fort will be held December 11-14, 2025 at Old Fort Parker in Groesbeck, Texas.
