–Storybook Trail – November 15 – December 30

The storybook trail goes around the Lake Trail and is about a mile. Starting by the Gazebo and ending down by the lake in the day use area.

The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. “Once there was a tree…and she loved a little boy.” So begins a story of unforgettable perception, beautifully written and illustrated by the gifted and versatile Shel Silverstein. This moving parable for all ages offers a touching interpretation of the gift of giving and a serene acceptance of another’s capacity to love in return.

–Texas State Parks Day – Sunday, November 2, 2025 (all day), Dutch oven demonstration @ 2:00pm

Savor the sweet side of the outdoors! Celebrate Texas State Parks Day with FREE entry into the park. Pack a picnic, bring the family, and enjoy the beauty of fall in the park. While you’re here, stop by our Dutch oven dessert demonstration and sample a delicious treat cooked the old-fashioned way – right over the coals!

–Spirit of Play: Native Games for Kids – Saturday, November 8, 2025 @ 2:00pm

–Bark Ranger Hike – Saturday, November 15, 2025 @ 2:00pm

Whether you call them your walking buddy, fur baby, or freeloader Fred. Bring your pup out to the park to enjoy nature with you. Receive and share tips for hiking with your dog at Texas State Parks. –Burn Off the Bird Hike – Saturday, November 29, 2025 @ 2:00pm
