On December 13, 2025, at 1 P.M., the Woodland Cemetery will have a “Wreaths Across America” ceremony, honoring all veterans and active military members by placing live, balsam wreaths on the headstones of our nation’s service members.
Wreaths Across America (WAA) is a national nonprofit organization founded in 2007 to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. WAA’s yearlong mission is to; Remember the fallen U S Veterans, Honor those who serve, and Teach our children the value of freedom.
Over 100 veterans were found in the Woodland Cemetery by researching obituaries. Please let us know if you have a loved one or know of a veteran so we will not leave anyone out.
Each wreath placed for our loved ones cost $17.00. If you would like to contribute you can send a check made payable to Wreaths Across America. Please go online to www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/TX1574 which is our website, and we will be credited for the wreaths.
You will be able to donate any amount or sponsor a specific number of wreaths and include a specific grave that you would like to have placed by you or a family member.
If you would like to be a part of the ceremony or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact either Teresa Duke, Treasurer at 903-391-3656 or Diane Pullin, Secretary at 903-644-5770.
