Fairfield Eagles quarterback Kohl Collins connected on six touchdown passes in the first half and they dominated the Brownsboro Bears 53-20 on the road Friday night. The Eagles improve to 3-0 on the young season and have combined for three convincing wins.

Collins completed 13-18 passes for 244 yards and six scores in one half, and the Eagles controlled the game and held the Bears at arm’s length for the remainder of the game.
Fairfield took the first possession and Collins completed a pass to Jason Brackens into Bear territory. Brackens added a 25-yard run, and the final play of the drive was Collins to Connor Colvert for the 23-yard score across the middle. The point after was no good and the Eagles jumped out to an early 6-0 lead.
The Bears marched into Fairfield territory on their first possession. They used 11 plays and converted on two third down situations but had to punt the ball away on fourth and long.

Fairfield took that possession and quickly flipped the field position. Khamrion Ingram had three carries on the drive and put the ball at midfield. Collins found his favorite receiver, Finn Smith for the 49-yard touchdown and the 13-0 lead on the Kieran King extra point.
Into the second quarter, it was more of the same for the Fairfield offense. Collins hit Colvert for the second time in the half, this one for a nine-yard score and the lead swelled to 19-0 after the missed point after.

Fairfield forced a punt, and Collins threw his fourth touchdown of the game on the team’s fourth possession. The five-play drive covered 53 yards and Collins tossed to Ingram out of the backfield for the one-yard touchdown and the Eagles had a commanding 26-0 lead.
Brownsboro drove inside the Fairfield ten and threatened to score but the Eagle defense stopped the Bears at the one and took over on downs. They would have to punt, and Collins had the snap sail over his head into the end zone for the safety and the Eagle lead was cut to 26-2 with just under four minutes remaining in the half.
The penalty plagued first half would turn crazy for the remainder of the time on the clock.

Brownsboro scored off the free kick on a 16-yard touchdown pass. The Eagles answered in a single play when Collins hit Smith for his second touchdown of the game on the 60-yard touchdown.
On the first play of the next drive for the Bears, Darion Weatherall hit the quarterback and forced a fumble and Thornburg recovered and the Eagles again needed on one play to score. Kavion Hicks reached up the ladder to haul in a 23-yard pass and the score was the sixth touchdown of the game for Collins and the Eagles led 39-8 at the half.
Brownsboro cut into the Eagle lead with a pair of touchdown passes to set the score at 39-21.

Fairfield added a Kyden Rodriguez 40-yard run and closed out the game with a highlight reel pick six off an interception and the final score of 53-20.
The Fairfield Eagles return home to take on the Buffalo Bison on Friday night and will close out the non-district season against McGregor a week from Friday night.
