Freestone County Commissioners held two Special Meetings last week, August 11 and 13, 2025, where they approved the following items:

1. Minutes from the August 6, 2025, regular meeting and the August 11, 2025, special meeting

2. Budget Transfers & Amendments

3. Bill Pay

4. Reports from Tax Office and Justice of the Peace, Pt. 1

5. Add Dana Maggard, County Auditor, to bank accounts and other bank related issues.

6. Add Dana Maggard, County Auditor, to Investment Committee.

7. Resolution regarding a contract for the purpose of financing “Firetrucks.” Financing to be paid off in 2026, 2027, 2028, and 2029. Fire departments receiving tankers will be Dew, Teague, and Streetman, and Wortham will receive at rescue truck. Payments don’t start until the unit is delivered to the respective fire department.

8. Grant received by FF VFD for $250,000 with a $122,000 match payment by the County. The truck should be received by the end of August. Money will be taken from the Fire Fund.

9. Purchase of Data Max and Maintenance Contract for the Freestone County Jail Cage in the amount of $2,620, and maintenance cost is determined by how many copies are made.

Each meeting was followed by a Budget Review. Once the budget is finalized and approved, a copy will be available to the public.
