Towns, Communities, Vendors and Shoppers wanting to participate in this event should get registered ASAP!!

“The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce along with the City of Fairfield have joined to be a part of the Sales along Hwy. 84 Event,” said the folks at Fairfield Chamber of Commerce. “The Event will take place on September 4, 5, & 6 which is the same weekend as the 27th Annual Show of Wheels.”

This is also the same weekend as Fairfield’s traditional City-Wide Garage Sale, which has been held each year on the first Saturday in September.

Readers are reminded that while they can still hold a garage sale that day, since the Chamber is participating in this bigger, 3-day event, they will not be printing a garage sale map for the City of Fairfield.

What exactly is Sales Along 84? It is a 3-Day fun-filled destination shopping experience situated along Highway 84. It is an event where individuals, businesses, civic organizations, churches, school clubs, etc. can come together within their own communities and set up sites along Highway 84 where shoppers, both near and far, can come to shop for treasures, unique finds, or amazing deals; there’s sure to be something for everyone!

Individual homeowners can set up in their yard. Retail businesses can set up “outside shopping” either on their sidewalk or in their parking lot. Churches can set up on their church campus. Civic groups and school clubs are encouraged to set up along Highway 84 as well; this event is a perfect opportunity for fund raisers.

Chambers of Commerce and/or Community Leaders are encouraged to meet to formulate a plan so that their town/community can participate in the event for their respective area situated along Highway 84.

“We are excited to bring this event to our community,” said Brenda and Emily at the Fairfield Chamber. “Watch the Chamber website and Facebook page ‘Fairfield Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center’ for more information coming soon!”

NOTE: The Chamber also asks that anyone planning to set up inside or near the Green Barn Civic Center to give them a call and let them know so they can compile a list. Fairfield Chamber is located at 900 W. Commerce Street and may be contacted at 903-389-5792.

Businesses which have participated in Sales Along 84 in the past can attest to how the event has benefited their annual sales. Smaller communities along the route can invite their residents to ‘cluster together for one large Community Sale. Families or neighbors can join together to form a “cluster” sales site along the route.

All that is needed to participate as a Vendor in the event is to select a spot along Highway 84 where one can legally set up a sale site, anywhere from Waco, Texas, through Louisiana, into Laurel, Mississippi.

Vendors, in order to acknowledge that they are a part of the Event, are asked to display a large bouquet of yellow balloons at their site that can easily be spotted by travelers along the designated Highway 84 route.
