The Freestone County Fair and Rodeo kicks off on Monday, June 16th and runs thru Saturday, June 21st at the fairgrounds in Fairfield.
This year’s theme is ‘Long Live the Cowboy.’

Residents are encouraged to enter the Home & Garden show with their best examples of Art, Baked Goods, Food Preservation, Horticulture, Crafts, Photography, and Quilts. Check in will be held at the Green Barn Civic Center from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on MONDAY, June 16th.

Next, check out the Ag Mechanics Show featuring projects by our county’s FFA and 4-H students beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Members of Trinity Star Arts Council invites everyone to view the ‘Fair’ posters created by local students at the TSAC Gallery from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. located on the square at 115 S. Mount Street, as they wait for the parade to start.

County Fair week officially kicks off with the annual parade beginning at 7:00 p.m. Floats, cars, horses, and more will meander around the courthouse square and travel down Highway 84, ending at the fairgrounds.

Following the parade will be the Stick Bull/Barrel Racing competition at the Ike Carden Arena and the Go Texan Horseshoes tournament at the Backstop.

Musical entertainment for the evening will be the Lone Star music icon, Gary P. Nunn, beginning at 8:00 p.m.

Livestock will begin checking in the morning of TUESDAY, June 17th.

Judging of Market Rabbits begins at 8:00 a.m., followed by Single Fryers. Breeding Sheep will be judged at 1:00 p.m., followed by Breeding Meat Goats.

The Home & Garden Building will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for project viewing (also on Wednesday & Thursday).

The 2nd Annual All Star Show will begin at 6:00 p.m. This is a special livestock show where special needs kids are the stars! Event is sponsored by Golden Circle Special Needs Association.

That evening also features the Miss Freestone County Pageant, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Fairfield High School Auditorium.

And at 7:00 p.m. will be the Go Texan Washers tournament.

Beginning at 8:00 p.m., 79 South will bring their southern rock and blues music to the stage.
