City, School Elections Set for May 3rd
For those not yet registered to vote, the last day to register in time to vote in the upcoming City and School elections is Thursday, April 3, 2025.
This is also the last date to change your address in time to vote in the May elections.
Texas residents may check to see if they are registered and begin the registration process online at votetexas.gov.
You can complete an application online or request a printed application be sent to you.
Once the voter registration application is completed, it must then be signed.
Finally, either mail or hand deliver the application to your local voter registrar. In Freestone County, that would be Freestone County Election Administrator Renee McBay, whose office is located at 444 E. Main Street in Fairfield, Texas 75840 (P.O. Box 1150 for mailing purposes).
Your voter registration will become effective 30 days after it is received, or on your 18th birthday, whichever is later. Your registration must be effective on or before election day in order to vote in that election.
If you move to another county, you must re-register in the county of your new residence.
For more information about registering to vote, contact the Freestone County Elections office at 903-389-0469, ext. 318 or via email to elections.clerk@co.freestone.tx.us
