Monica Lynn Abbitt, 75, of Teague, Texas, passed away on January 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 26, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Edwin and Jean Juchno.

Monica had a giving heart and dedicated much of her time and resources to ministries she held dear.

She found joy in gardening and cherished the company of her beloved animals. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and vibrant spirit.

Monica was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Jean Juchno, and her brother, John Juchno.

She is survived by her children, Guinevere Galloway and husband John, Robert Abbitt and wife Laura, Chris Abbitt and wife Natalie, and Matt Abbitt and wife Courtney.

She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and a great-grandmother to one great-grandchild.

Monica also leaves behind numerous extended family members who will miss her deeply.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfield. Graveside services celebrating Monica’s life were held at Lake Chapel Cemetery following visitation.

Pallbearers were John Galloway, Chris Abbitt, Matt Abbitt, Robert Abbitt, Jonathan Galloway and Wisam Ghuneim.

Monica’s warm presence and loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
