The Fairfield Invitational Basketball Tournament was played in two pools with each pool placement playing the same number in the other pool.

Fairfield split their four games with wins over Brewer and Maypearl, and losses to Athens and Bullard.

Brewer won three of the four pool games, losing only to Fairfield on day two Bullard completed pool play also at 3-1, losing only to Brewer 61-57.

Athens split their four games with losses to Brewer and Bullard and wins over Fairfield and Maypearl. Maypearl lost all four of their pool games.

Decatur claimed the top spot in Pool A with dominating wins over Palmer, Azle, Waco Connally and Mexia. Palmer, Azle and Connally split their games in an evenly matched pool schedule.

Saturday, Mexia and Maypearl began the day with the Blackcats claiming the 56-44 win. Fairfield and Connally played the second game, and the Cadets hit a shot at the buzzer for the 70-69 win. Athens and Palmer faced off on the last day of the tournament and the Hornets won the game 50-40. Azle and Bullard played in the tournament third place game with the Hornets edging the Panthers 58-49.

Fort Worth Brewer advanced to take on unbeaten Decatur in the tournament final. Colbert scored 17 points in the first half before leaving with an injury and did not return to the game. Brewer outscored the Eagles 28-7 the rest of the way and took a 50-30 tournament final win.
