Calvary Baptist Church of Fairfield called Andrew Douglass as their new pastor on Sunday, November 3, effective immediately. He comes to the church from First Baptist, Gresham, where he was pastor the last 5 years. He and his wife Taylor have four children- Theodore, Luke, Kate, and Benjamin.

Both Andrew and Taylor are natives of Las Vegas, Nevada, where they served together in church. Speaking of their marriage, Andrew says that Taylor was “both his Rachel and his Laban”. The two knew each other for seven years before she agreed to marry him. Andrew says that just like Rachel, she was worth waiting seven years for, but just like Laban, she made him earn it!

Andrew has a bachelor’s degree in Science Education and a M.Ed in Curriculum and instruction from UNLV, and a M.DIV from the Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary in Jacksonville. He taught high school for 10 years before entering seminary.

Taylor has a bachelor’s degree in business from UNLV, and was an office manager for 10 years, before she acquiesced to Andrew’s marriage proposal in 2016. Their married life began in Jacksonville, Texas, where Andrew attended seminary, pastored a small church, and worked as a contractor in home renovations. Their first child was born in 2017, followed by twins a year and half later.

Andrew states that his mission in Fairfield is “to preach Christ and Him crucified”.

Calvary’s services are at 10:45 AM and 6:30 PM Sundays, 6:00 PM Wednesdays. Services are streamed on Facebook and YouTube.
